Did you know that depending on the size, insulators and arresters are produced on DESMA machines 968.400 ZOB series up to the 968.1350 ZOB? As a rule, HTV, pasty silicone, is fed into the injection unit in the form of “dolls” via silicone inserts. In this form, the inserts, usually pre-treated with an adhesion promoter, are over-molded and vulcanized. Using all FlowControl cold runner nozzles or just a few, the same tool can produce insulators of different sizes. It is also possible to use various tools/inserts.
